large file in Outlook Express won't download

For the last hour Outlook Express has been trying to work, but all I keep getting is this message........."your POP3 server has not responded in 60 seconds. Would you like to wait another 60 seconds for the server to respond"

I keep pressing wait, but obviously am getting anxious, as I am wondering what or who, has sent such a big file.

Is there any help out there to quicken this email,
as even if I get out of Outlook Express I still get the above message.

Login to your email account from the homepage of your isp and see if this will download the file.

Normally the process is to select stop and then as above.
