My daughters Dell laptop with vista installed started playing up yesterday, a pop up appeared informing you that you need to buy anti virus, but Avast was already installed, but after the pop up disappeared Avast was no longer installed, i ran the laptop in safe mode ran adaware SAS and windows defender some things were found and cleaned but now the laptop boots up in normal mode for a couple of minutes and a blue screen appears with writing all the way down the screen too fast to see what is on the screen and it goes through the boot up stage again, the only changes made to the laptop were google earth pro was installed the day before help please,,

It sounds very much as though some sort of virus is responsible. I suggest you go to this specialist malware removal site click here and start a thread in the appropriate section. They have experts who can diagnose and remove viruses and other malware.

Try running malwarebytes in safe mode. If that doesn't work, then I suggest you contact the malware removal website for help.

Or do a backup and format the laptop ! in some cases it's just much quicker and you can start off clean ! and buy a good V-Checker !!!!

I finally got malawarebytes to open, updated it and run a scan, it found two trojan horses which were cleaned, the laptop now seems to be working fine.
Fruit Bat i dont know the name of the rouge pop up.
