laptop wont boot

hi i got a ibm thinkpad t20 laptop that worked fine lastnight but just went to boot it up for the first time today and it wont boot i get the following message.

intel r boot agent version 4.0.15
pxe-e61:media test failure check cable
pxe-mof:existing intel pxe rom
operating system not found

anyone know what the problem is.

It sounds like either the hard drive has failed or more likely the cable has come adrift. If its a hard drive that you can get at without dismantling the computer, ie if its in a drive tray that you can get at from the outside and you can unplug it then try removing and refitting it. If not and its a new unit I would return it.
