Laptop Wireless On/Off Issue

Hi there,

Laptop has re-installed Intel/ProSet Wireless Adapter, worked perfectly at college for over a year using there hot spots, recently re-installed the operating system and the software for Intel, now when trying to click "wireless on" a message appears, saying "the wireless network connection is disabled, use you hardware switch to enable it"; the laptop has no external "switch" to toggle between on and off, the whole process is done by a dialogue box on screen.

Any ideas?

Thanks...... Neil.

Control Panel, Network Connections. Right click the Wireless and select Enable.

Thanks Graham, done all that, no effect whatsoever. Covered all that area etc. Re-installed the wireless adaptor as well, nothing works. Sometimes there is an external switch on the laptop..... mine has nothing!

Some laptops use a combination of key presses, usually the Fn and another key, which laptop do you have?
