Could anybody through some light on the problem my daughter has with her laptop. Since it has come back from being repaired, the only way she can use the laptop is if the power lead is connected. She left it all day charging yeaterday, only to find when she tried to turn it on, nothing happened. when she put the power lead in it fired up straight away. While using it she took the power lead out only to find the laptop shutdown straight away. Thanks for any assistance

send it back...

I agree with De Marcus™

Especially if it didn’t have this problem before you sent it to be repaired,

The sooner you tell them - the better.

Chances are the battery is either missing or faulty.

Batteries are usually removed during shipping.
Re-check the box it was returned in.
Good Luck

My wife's Acer had exactly these symptoms and was sent away to confirm that the battery was faulty.
