i am considering buying a laptop .... i have seen ads that say "us keyboard easily converted" exactly what is the difference and how is it changed to uk keyboard ?

certain functions are on different key. I.E. " and @ are the opposite way around.

It depends whether you mean the physical key positions (which I can't see how you could change) - or the software layout, which can be easily setup or changed in Windows.

If you set the keyboard language to English UK you will get the standard keyboard functionality of a british computer, but as has already been said some of the key functions will no longer match the symbols on them and the £ symbol on shift 3 will not be shown. The "easy" way round this is adhesive keyboard labels like click here it may be possible to get them from a local supplier.
