using a vga cable i have conected a laptop running windows 7 to a 42" lcd tv, the tv will display the welcome screen ok but during boot up the tv display is lost. if i uninstall the graphics driver i get the display on the tv screen but no matter what driver i use..and i tried a few... as soon as the graphics driver is loaded the tv display is lost. i have tried changing settings like resolution refresh rate etc but not joy. however if i install xp on the laptop there is no problem at all the tv display is fine with the graphics loaded, just plug and play with no need to change any settings anywhere. i have elliminated the tv as i can try the exact same thing on another large screen lcd tv with exaxctly the same results. i also tried a different laptop on both tvs again this behaved in the exact same mannor

i must be missing something somewhere

any idea ?

i dont think the graphics card is the answer since 2 different laptops with different specs did the exact same thing on 2 different tvs
