Ive got a 'kit' to connect my laptop to the tv. It uses an s-video cable from the laptop to a scart junction, and phono cable which also connects into the scart junction. Its a simple little kit, all leads go into scart junction, which goes into a scart socket on the tv, then i gues i have to press FN+'blah' to get the video feed through to the tv.

I can't get it to work...

the s-vid cable i have is a 4 pin, but i have a 7-pin on my laptop, would this matter? It if doesnt, anyone got any ideas how to get the video feed through so that it works, I just get a blue screen on the AV channel.

On mine it's function f4. There may be picture of a moniter along side a tv on the correct button.
What type of laptop?
I assume there are fewer pins because the audio is on the mini jack lead.

If your TV has the 15 pin DSUB connector then use that. Sorry cant help you re S-video/scart connection but does seem like its pin configuration.
