Laptop Sound Card

Hi, I have been lent a laptop, a Dell Latitude D520, as I am going into hospital and will be watching DVD's to pass the long boring hours there. Unfortunately there is no sound and I looked in the Forum and downloaded the Belarc software and it informs me that there is no Multimedia detected. Is it a big deal to install a sound card? I had to download some DVD decoders to get a DVD to play now it's just the sound.
Thanks
Allan

Installing an internal card will be a big job, laptops are not user friendly items to take apart....However, an external soloution would be your best bet.... many are available here is one for reference click here
