Laptop shutting down

I am having several problems with my laptop at the moment but also finding that when I use my own user account the laptop will shut down without warning after about 5 minutes. The other user account on the same laptop is fine and can be used for hours. Could it be the fact that there are too many processes running on my user account?

What other problems are you having, they might be related?

Could it be the fact that there are too many processes running on my user account?

Or you have a virus or spyware on your account.

Do a scan with an upto date Anti virus / spyware scanner.

I think I have a problem with the power supply might be a loose connection so not really sure this will have any effect.

I have AVG free 7.5 and it is up to date, I also have AVG anti-spyware, but not sure this is working properly. Can you recommend another antispyware scanner?

Why would it shut my account down and not my partners?
