Laptop - set gamma on Radeon X1400

Hi there,
My friend has just bought a Lenovo laptop model T60. It comes with onboard graphics, an Intel 950.

He has a problem with his eyes where he has to set the screen so dark you can hardly see it. With the current setup he can't set the gamma or brightness low enough on the Intel graphics control panel.

So I suggested he get a Radeon X1400 fitted because he can have it upgraded with one, but he wants to know first before he spends the money, if it's possible to set the gamma and brightness on this low enough.

Is there anyone out there who has a lappy with an X1400 and can please verify whether the graphics control panel can set the screen almost black? I'd be truly grateful if you can help me with this odd problem! :)

Best wishes,

Paul
