Laptop Screen

The screeen of my Toshiba laptop is rather dim (like it's owner! 8-) ). Do you know how to brighten this up? I suppose it is set that way by the factory to extend the battery life.

Would be a great help to know what make of laptop you have and what operating system you are running.

You would get a better response from someone having and running the same system as yourself.

Should have said what Toshiba model you have.

Press Fn and F7 to increase brightness, F6 to decrease. The screen will always be dimmer running on batteries than on mains too.

Brundle - another thing learned, thanks.

Only made the same mistake myself years ago. Did brundle's advice work?

Expat 1: Yes it certainly did, thanks. But the proof will not be known really until I try it in full daylight. And of course Brundle was correct in saying that the screen is brighter when under mains power.

I foresee it being used outside in the Summer ( which is why I needed the info) but, for now, it's mainly used by connecting it to an LCD screen via it's HDMI connector.

Many thanks to both of you.
