Insert the support CD and reboot the laptop.
select the option start from CD rom
Follow the onscreen instructions
The laptop will restar to its original factory settings.

The retten files are image files created with symantec (ghost)

Asabove you shouldhave a Recovery CD, When you start with the CD it gives three options you can start from top to try to get it working bottom one does a full back to recovered state as when you bought the Laptop

The problem is there is no backup CD it's just on the partition call backup.

Next question, how do i create the backup cd's?
Do i burn 3 cd's or a dvd as it's too much for one cd-r

All medion PCs and laptops come with recovery CDs (one of the best things about Medion). You need the CD to activate the images.

I have copied the backup and recovery partitions on my medion to CD and also copied the recovery CD.

Post the make and model and some one may be able to tell you where to get a recovery CD from click here
