Laptop Processor speeds Intel vs AMD

  DJ-Garry 02:24 26 Nov 06

Hi guys. I have seen two buget laptops and I'm not sure which one to get as my first ever after only using desktops before. One has an Intel Celeron M410 (1.46 GHz)click here
And the other an AMD Turion 64 mobile technology MK-36 / 2 GHz click here
If there's not much in it with the CPU's, which seems the better machine?
Cheers, Garry

I would go with the AMD

I have a laptop with an AMD 64 bit and one with a Celeron. Both have the same clock speed. The AMD is significantly faster. Plus, if you want to, you can run a 64 bit OS and software. I have run a Linux 64 bit distribution and the 32 bit version. The 64 bit is faster but not the obvious difference between the processors.

So I'd chose the AMD 64. Look at click here which has the better w/s TFT.
