laptop problem on startup

running xp when laptop powers up it says select operating system to start and shows 2 xp systems and says will start in 60 secs,how do i sort this,thanks.

also batt icon has a red x in it ,does that mean duff batt,also says batt power remaining unknown.

It sounds like you have reloaded XP at sometime, That's why it says two XP's Easy wayto get rid of the Dual boot is by editing the boot file in XP. Cannot remeber what it sould be set to 0 or 1 check the boot file. In Notepad you can open it there then copy paste the info hear

Start Notepad, Go to Open then brows to C:\ boot.ini should be there. Select all the text the copy it, right click in the Post Reponse box hear and paste

It looks like you have got files Hidden.

To unhide files, go to Control Panel\Folder Options\View\ then click show hidden files
