Is it possible to use a laptop as a monitor for a different pc.
Problem is i have a pc with no monitor and a laptop and it would be extremely useful if i could use the laptop basically in place of a monitor.

Cheers

Don't know if it can be done... I have seen this question pop up here a few times and never saw a resolution. But I await with interest a satisfactory answer.

I once used a PC moniter instead of a laptop (plugged into the CGA port on the laptop, so I assume that if you bought a VGA cable (try ebuyer click here) you would be able to do just this, by connecting the laptop o your PC, theoretically (spelling?) it should work.

I have a PC that I sometimes boot with no monitor, keyboard or mouse attached, but it is networked and "RealVNC" is launched on booting so that I can control it fully from another PC.

You could do something like this but obviously it needs to be set up first and that does require the use of a monitor.

I don't believe the laptop's video output port could be used to let you use the laptop as the PC's monitor.
