Laptop Overseas Internet Connection

In the UK my ISP provider is Tiscali. Having just purchased a laptop computer, could someone please give me the basics of how I would go about connecting to the internet when I am in Australia. At home, I am connecting to the internet using my home telephone number - what happens when I plug my laptop into a telephone socket overseas?

If it is Tiscali that you dial into here, then you would need the equivalent number over in Australia. Then you may need to load up the UK site for your account.

It's the same in Australia as anywhere. Here is a link to ISPs, but I'm sure you can find others via Google. click here

You will almost certainly need a new 'phone lead, which you can get when you get there, but apart from that the principle is the same everywhere.
