Laptop monitor has gone pink...

I've used a monitor with my laptop for a long time, since the inbuilt monitor died; had no problems at all.

Suddenly it's gone pink, or somewhere between pink and red, all over the screen, the icons, the browser...

Any, all help much appreciated.

Thanks!

That sounds very much like either the cable has come loose or the cable / pins are damaged.

I have a cable that causes mine to go blue if not placed exactly in the correct position :0)

Yep, that's it. I've wiggled it around and got it taped tight temporarily while I get a new cable. Could be the monitor input, of course, but, anyway, thanks so much!

Your welcome.

If you are constantly unplugging and plugging in a monitor cable the port on the laptop and/or the cable can get damaged especially the pins. Wrong colours are typically symptoms. You may want to consider a docking station.
