Laptop looking for DHCP on boot up ?

Hi,
I have just restored my laptop back to factory default using the Acer supplied disks. All is well apart from one thing: when the laptop is switched on, I get a black screen (Similar to a DOS screen)with writing which says:
CLIENT MAC ADDRESS: xx xx xx xx xx xx
GUID: xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx
DHCP..../

After about 2 minutes the Laptop boots up to Windows XP fine with no other issues. I have a feeling this is a BIOS issue as it only happens at start up.

Any ideas why this does this ?

Regards.

Enter BIOS and look for an option to "Boot from LAN" and disable it, F10 out and reboot.

PS Don't disable LAN otherwise your router won't work.

Try looking in msconfig in the Boot tab, make sure your OS is Default and nothing else ticked
