Hi a friend just bought a evesham laptop, as he is new to computers, he let the battery go flat, this unfortunately led to him charging the battery up just to find it would not recognise his password on the login screen. The laptop has no instructions on how to recover it, I have ttried the f11 on boot up to no avail, he has 2 disks one that is a dvd driver, and one that lookss like a vista upgrade disk. can anyone help please

Letting the battery die shouldn't stop the password from being recognised. It has an internal battery in it for that, which wouldn't go flat in ages, if at all.

Login screen where? BIOS or in Windows? If Windows, battery has NOTHING to do with.

If it is the case, click F8 repeatedly just after it boots/beeps. It will ask you where to boot, boot in safe mode, and then log into the Administrator, and delete the user password.

Do not use the Upgrade disc, It will be the Ultimate you have to pay extra for it. Why not contact eversham
