Laptop key pad aggro

Aaaargghhhh. My two year old son has given an almighty boot to my Dell Inspiron lap top and as a result one of the key pads has come off. It is still intact, but I'll be damned if I can work out how to get it back on. It doesn't just push on. Looking at the attachment it looks like it should push down and then turn to lock into place, but it doesn't seem to want to do that. Does anyone out there, by some amazing chance know of the knack to get a keypad back on? Is there some trick to it? Presumably all keyboards are different, so any Dell users had to do this too?

Thanks if any one can help.

I don't know if this is any help to you, but I once used a little bluetack to hold a key in place; not ideal but it worked.
