Laptop HDD and airport security scanners

I have recently bought a backup device which copies my photos from the compactflash card onto an internal 2.5" laptop hard drive.

I am going to take this away with me and am just wondering if it's safe to have this device in my hand luggage, or whether it will be affected by the airport x-ray scanners.

Please can anyone advice me?

Thanks,

Gary

Pass though airport scanners most weeks with a laptop and had no effect yet.

You should not have any problems. It is safe.

OK, great. Thanks. I'll carry the photo drive in my hand luggage.

Cheers,
