laptop hard-drive swap

My system is playing up a little bit. It is a Samsung VM7000. I think Windows ME is the main culprit. Instead of formatting I want to swap the drive for a larger one. The current one is a 6 Gig and I have been eyeing off a 20-30Gig that has been advertised at Aria.
can anyone tell me if a laptop drive is a straight swap. Mine has a single screw on a cover marked hard drive. I am comfortable with fdisking and formatting and I have all necessary disks. And a copy of W98SE that I want to put on my new drive.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

the answer is yes. Just be very creful that the ribbon connection to the screen is not disturbed. It sounds like your laptop is even easier.
