laptop hard drive

I have a laptop that is dead,can I remove the hard drive and install in another laptop to remove photos etc;or is it more technical than that?Thankyou for any help

Install into another laptop will not work unless identical machine as drivers will be for your old machine.

you can fit the drive into a USB enclosure and connect to another machine second one down click here is for IDE hard drives

you just need to remove the drive from the laptop to check whether IDE or SATA connection.

If you just transfer it internally from one machine to another you will almost certainly run into problems as Windows will be looking for the drivers on the old machine (unless they are identical laptops you are transferring to.

Better to buy a 2.5" external USB caddy and transfer the data that way.
