LapTop graphics

My son has just taken delivery of an Acer 5920g (none BluRay) and needs advice on the graphics side please.
The graphics 'card' is Radeon 3470 (which I assume is ‘on-board’).
The max Monitor set-up says it's 1280 x 800 pixels.

The 5920g that he originally wanted already has a BluRay player,,,, This has Intel x3100 graphics but is still 1280 x 800. . Is this enough for actual BluRay ?

He intends to get a BluRay burner for his machine but is still worried about the monitor only having 800 pixels and Radeon graphics.
1/ Will this give him proper bluray on the monitor ?
2/ Will this set-up give him proper bluray if using his HD (1080) TV ?

Any other advice would be welcome.
