laptop good or not

my friend is selling an Acer laptop with
1.5ghz intel centrino
40gb hard drive
256 mb
and a printer all for £300 is this a good deal or should i leave be using it for general work on word,excel abd watching movies and playing movies.

If it has no CD/DVD writer and no programmes £200-£250 would be better.

Depends on how old, how much use etc

Some pretty startling price falls in laptops in Dixons/PCWorld and other outlets now. Check them out. Remember you will get no warranty

Also depends on the quality of the printer

For the use you describe see if you can chew £50 off. At that price perhaps yes

This is not new its factory refurbished but may be the same PC as your friend is selling click here= but has 512mb RAM a DVD writer and a 6 month warranty. The only thing about your friends laptop is you will have a better idea how much use it has had. Whereas if you buy the one from Morgans it could be very well used, but then you get a 6 month warranty. A cheap printer need only set you back about £40 click here
