Howdy,

I have an old Dell Inspiron 510m laptop which i am looking to upgrade.

I've already found the RAM and HDD that will, fingers crossed, be good but i have no clue about upgrading the processor!

First of all, is it possible?! I currently have a Intel Pentium 1.70GHz M processor and a Intel 855GME chipset. I've been on the intel website and it looks like thats the best processor for that chipset!

Does anyone know if its possible to put a 2 or 2.2GHz Intel pentium M processor in the 855GME chipset?

Cheers
Andy

My advice is to abandon that line of thought, the difference in performance would be negligible and really really not worth the effort.

Concentrate on the RAM.

....... with MarvintheAndroid.

If you are replacing the HD and reinstalling Windows it will appear faster.

A RAM upgrade is the best option unless you need extra HD space, if so go for an external USB drive.
