Laptop charger voltage

Hi all

The power supply for my daughter's HP laptop is on its last legs and she's about to go off for several months on her gap year.

The charger is a HP 65w-HP03 with an output voltage of 18.5v / 3.5A.

However, I have a spare Dell unit that has an output of 19.5V / 3.34A with a similar plug.

Would it be safe to use this Dell charger on the HP laptop even though it is rated at 1V higher?

Thanks in advance! Don't want to wreck the laptop as you can imagine!

Almost certainly yes is the answer as long as the polarity is correct. It will probably be marked (drawn) on the bottom of the chargers with the centre pin as positive. Might be marked on the plugs or laptop socket too.
