Laptop can't keep a wireless connection

I recently purchased a Lenovo g500 with Windows 8.1

The laptop can connect to the wireless router, but it keeps losing an internet connection every other minute. This doesn't happen to anyone else on the network or my old laptop.

Help?

Try connecting the laptop via Ethernet cable to the router. Go to Lenovo help and support for latest drivers for your wlan. click here

Are you hiding your SSID and if so do you have your laptop set to connect to your network even when the SSID is not being broadcast?

I'm connected via ethernet at the moment, but all the drivers are up to date.

Our SSID isn't hidden and I have set it to connect automatically, although it made no different when it wasn't automatic.
