Hi

New to this forum so hello everybody
I have an orange Livebox which works fine with my desktop and 1 laptop
I have an ACER laptop i would also like to connect via wireless but it cannot find the livebox at all (it will find 5 other providers)so its not the wireless card.

The ACER laptop will also work fine if conected directly to the livebox via cable

Phoned orange went through there hopeless card lists and they just fobbed me off saying the laptop is not 128 bit encypted (which it is).

Notes to help
Firewall was off
Anti virus off
Ran install disc
running on sp2 windows home edition

Anybody got any ideas please ??

Sorry posted this in the wrong section before

Have you tried changing the Livebox wireless channel?
You need to press a button on the side of the Livebox to allow association with new devices as you probably know, but that shouldn't stop the Livebox SSID appearing in the wireless network list - are you 100% sure the SSID is set to broadcast and not hidden?

You might want to try NetStumbler; click here

Hi many thanks for your help

My work laptop picks up the live box just fine no issues at all.

So not sure why this other laptop cannot see it
