Laptop Boot without CD Drive

  Pembury 08:47 21 Jul 06

I have recently aquired an HP NC4000 laptop which came with XP Pro already working and I have an Installation Disk for XP Pro. However, the laptop has neither a floppy or a CD Drive.

If I have to reinstall windows at some future date, how do I do it?

You can obtain a USB (external) DVD drive. Check first that the bios will allow you to boot from a USB device; if not you may have to update the bios.

In any event it may be worth your while to borrow etc such a drive and copy the XP Pro disk to your hard drive so that the files are available.
