My Toshiba laptop does not boot up and gives error message 'NTLDR is missing'. What do I need to do to resolve?

Do NOT boot up with a 9x boot floppy and use the sys c: command. That would only copy the 9x system/boot files to C: and turn the boot sector into a 9x boot sector, and you will not be able to get into your NT-based OS.

Are you using Windows 2000 or Windows XP? And do you have the Windows installation CD? Or do you have access to another computer running the same OS as on the laptop?
