hi i have just got a new laptop, hp9010 p4 3.06 ghz, xp pro, when i look in system propertys it says that the cpu is 1.5 ghz and when i look again it says cpu is 849mhz, i asked in the shop and they said it was because it is a laptop and the software reads it that way, when i look in aida32, it says that it is a 3.06ghz cpu which is clocked to 1.5 ghz, how can i change this or is the man in the shop right i live in spain and tried hp but got no joy can anyone help.

Is it a mobile CPU chip? Mobile chips cut down on the speed that they run at so as to preserve battery life and extend it.

As far a software reading it that way I have a laptop with a 3ghz chip and my software reads it fine.

You could check out your BIOS settings and see if you can see if anything is awry.

checked out the bios and it needed to be updated have done that and it reads fine 3.06 mgz.
