I have a Compaq Armada 1592dt laptop and recently replaced the 4gig drive for a 10 gig one. Apparently the bios only recognises 8gig max (I've been told the full drive is available, bios only reorts 8gig). EZ Drive has been mentioned as an answer to this, but appears to only come when buying a new drive. Any ideas greatly apreciated

You could update the bios - if that is the problem.

Or try partitioning the drive into 2x5gb maybe...

What operating system?

Windows 98 only recognised 8.4g (except for second edition.)

If xp, make sure bios is set to automatically detect drive size.

Have you got LBA enabled in your bios??

My bios is the latest version, and I have LBA enabled, using ME.Smiler has answered my question with his link - impressive site (well, it is for me). I'll think about it before I try it out - thanks.
