lan disconnected???

im trying to set up my lan to connect ti up to my ps2 i have on board lan. it was previously disabled in the bios but i go help here last night on fixing that problem. now, when i go into network connections the lan section is there but it says some cables are disconnected.

in device manager it says "ethernet adapter.......-this device is working"

when i type ipconfig as a compand prompt i get ether net adapter ...:media disconnected

im runing xp pro

help please

(Network Interface Card) Windows will regularly 'poll' it, and if it isn't connected to anything it will return the message that you're seeing.

The NIC must be connected (via Cat5 cable and RJ45 plugs) to a valid networked device like a hub, or a router, or another computer etc., before it will function correctly.

You're connecting to a PlayStation 2, and I assume that you have set up the special PS2 network adapter? Have you ensured that it's properly connected at the back of the PS2? Have you run the set up disk that comes with it?

i have tryed to set up the ps2 but it wont get past trying to connect to the network
