Hi, i have at this moment 2 LAN high speed connections icons. One says 1394 connection and the other says nvidia nforce 2 networking, and although i can connect with both, one gives me a connection being 100.0mbs ( which I am using at the moment ). How can I switch to the other which gives me 400.0 mbs, as the setting was changed to the previous ( 100.mbs )by mistake when someone repaired my pc. Please tell me in simple terminology, thanks.

Unless you have a network using Firewire (1394) then it is not being used.
You usually connect to your home network or router via CAT5 etc network cable and not Firewire cable.

Your firewire port is for video cameras and the Ditch999 has said, you can't magic up 400mps with it I'm afraid :((

Thanks for all your help, and I will still have a crack at trying to solve the prob.

You can directly connect two PC's together using your Firewire ports. This is probably the quickest and fastest way to transfer data between the two (do not try it with USB) unless you're on a home network.
