LaCie Drive not recognised

My 1Tb Lacie external hard drive which I use for backup from Acronis was working OK until it became full and I foolishly, without looking at proper method, formatted it to clear it out.

Now I cant get it "recognised" by my PC on Drive I ( i not one) which is where it always resided. Running troubleshoot indicates that it is working fine with full capacity but needs "initialising", and the Lacie Assistant which was on the drive from new has been wiped and I can't download it from their site, they say I just have to do it manually.

No CD disc was provided with the drive, which inside the Lacie box (Neil Poulton edition) is a Western Digital drive(s). In XP there was a disc manager but I cannot find that on Windows 7

Try this:

Start> Administrative tools> Computer management> Storage> Disc management

Thanks to both of you, I have now got LaCie disk up, running and formatted.

Now have to set up new updated version of Acronis True Image to complete the task and leave it for another few years to back up but this time I'll do it incrementally so it doesn't fill up so quickly, if at all.
