LaCie 120 LCD doesn't display start-up screens

I've had a LaCie 120 LCD monitor since Jan 06. I got a new PC yesterday with an ATI Radeon 1950 series graphics card. At start-up, the monitor shows a message 'Input not supported' during the start-up, but is fine once the welcome screen is displayed.

Any ideas why this could be happening? Everything else is fine. Monitor is connected via DVI cable to the left DVI socket as you look at the rear of the computer.
