L2 Cache

I have a processor that had the L2 cache cut so as to sell it as a lower spec CPU. I've had someone who knows about these things re-enable the extra L2 cache so instead of the normal 256k it's now a total of 512k.
My mobo manual (ECS K7VMM+) says it only supports a chip with 256k cache.
Would this CPU I have work with my mobo alright or will it cause problems?
