Kindle Fire HD

I have just bought a second hand Kindle Fire from eBay, I have loaded some video on to it. The video was first converted to mp4 format and the first one played ok, the second one(a film recorded from TV) played as well, but then I started to get error messages "Unable to play video" or "not responding" etc.

It seems to be intermittent problem, any ideas as to what might be causing the trouble?

I would delete and reload it as It may be a corrupt file.
