Keyboard symbols different on screen.

when I type (@) what I get is (") which should be the shift and No2.

when I type (" )shift and No2 what I get is (@)

The pound sign come out as a hash and the hash comes out as a back slash. many other keys are also out of kilter. How do I sort this out?

win xp sp2. office 2000. keyboard is an infomate HKT 1001 ps2

Your keyboard is set to the US layout. Goto control panel > regional and language options > language tab > detaisl. Click the add button and select english (unitied kingdom), higlhight Us keyboard and click remove.

spot on... now my " & @ are in the right place. I thought it would have to be simple. had to re boot to make the changes work though.
