keyboard switch off

I have recently found out that the trackpad on an acer laptop can be turned off and on using the Fn [function key] and F7. Does anyone know if the keyboard can also be switched on and off using a combination of keys? I have a travelmate with a non working keyboard but it tests as perfect.

I don't know of any key combination that would do this. Does it show up in device manager? How do you know it tests as perfect?

I don't know if you can switch the keyboard off but just a thought.

If the keyboard could be switched off how would you switch it back on again.

the keyboard does not operate but the function keys do and the trackpad does but also a usb keyboard works. If I use a live ubuntu cd the keyboard works but slowly. I updated from xp to w7 and it was working fine then all of a sudden not.

Can you access device manager? Does it need drivers?

it appears to have all drivers not sure about ubuntu though
