Keyboard not responding

I have an Acer Aspire 7540 laptop which was not responding to keyboard presses after a cat sat on the keyboard for quite a few minutes!

I performed a complete destructive recovery (after backing up my photos etc.) and the keyboard still does not respond. An external keyboard gives me pretty much the same. Sometime I get continuous rapid-fire beeps. Does that mean the mainboard is buggered somehow?

Did the cat do any toilet on the keyboard as that could cause the problem.

Try another keyboard.

sounds like a key is stuck down.

I think you may just need to remove strip and clean it.

No, the cat didn't wee or anything else on it, plus I've cleaned the keyboard and tried 3 external keyboards.

Because both keyboards are active if something like Ctrl or Alt button was stuck down then computer would see that + key from other board
