Keyboard no longer working

I recently did a re-install of Windows XP. Now my keyboard has stopped working.

It lights up briefly when I connect it at the back. But then nothing, caps lock etc don't work either.

It was fine before.

I was thinking ofdownloading drives but I shouldn't need them if using XP, right?

The keyboard is a Compaq SK-2850C.
