keyboard & mouse problem

I have just re-installed Xp home edition on a PC with a wireless mouse & keyboard. The PC does not recognise either of these when it enters the windows desktop screen. I have tried other keyboards with the same happening. I have also tried both keyboards on Bios where they DO work. Any ideas would be helpful.

You did reinstall the software/drivers for your mouse/keyboard after you reinstalled XP, didn't you?

How does the adaptor for the wireless kit connect to your PC?

it is a ps/2 connection. I have also tried wired versions and also USB versions.

Have you checked in your BIOS to ensure that support is enabled?

how would i do that?

Have you tuned the transmitters/receivers to each other?

Normally there is a reset button on both the mouse and the keyboard. Use a pencil or similar and press the reset for about 10 seconds then press the tuning button on the receiver box to enable it to tune to the frequencies of the keyboard and mouse.

I have tried this, i have also used a wired keyboard which does not work when windows has loaded. Both keyboards work when in the bios though.
