I'm running Win98 SE and occasionally the keyboard will stop working completely. Restarting the computer will rectify the fault. I've tried another keyboard and thats the same. Tried Win updare for drivers , told I'm using the best driver. All connectios are secure. Any suggestions please

Obviously it is not the keyboard itself, so that leaves other hardware like the motherboard, but this is unlikely becuse hardware more often than not either behaves or goes AWOL.

That leaves the lame excuse for people like me who don't know any better... that it might be a virus?

Its not the keyboard. Can you give us some more info about your machine and the software on it? How long has this been happenning? When you reboot, how long will the system run before it next locks up?
