Keyboard adding symbol to a key

I need to allocate a "tick" to one of the keys on my keyboard.

Is this possible and if so how do I do it.

Open Word, Insert>Symbol Change the font to Wingdings and use the scroll bar to find the tick symbol (Character Code 252) Now press the Shortcut Key Button. The cursor will be in the "Press New Shortcut Button" - I suggest you hold the Alt Key and T Key (But you can choose anything really) If this shortcut is already assigned it will tell you so you can change it but otherwise click the Assign Key.
