I turned on my Dell laptop. It took ages to boot then a message came up: "This application has failed to start because kernet32.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem". I don't know what this problem is, let alone re-installing. PLEASE help.

Have you run your antivirus/ antimalware programs? Could be an infection.

It is probably kernel32.dll. Try SFC click here

Sorry, it was kernel32.dll message. But I couldn't run anything on the laptop because it was just that message with blue screen (suspect it's the blue screen of death) and i can't type anything on it. This morning i tried to turn it on, and the Windows XP set up just keep running but nothing happens. Completely lost now.

Try a repair click here

Thanks for your suggestions, but the repair procedures are no good for us because we can do nothing but turn on the computer (getting to the blue fault page) and turn it off. No keystrokes (Esc, Ctrl/Alt/Del etc.) have any effect, there is no CD/DVD drive, neither do we have a pen drive with Windows.

Am I doomed?
