I use Windows ME. When i go to save a document on the desktop i get the message " Winword has caused an error in KERNEL32.DLL. Winword will now close". The warning box does not disappear unless i restart the pc. Any ideas why I keep receiving this message and why does it only happen in Winword?

Close down all running programs. Using the windows find feature, search for the following files:

*.tmp, ~*.* (copy and paste into search)

This should return all files that end with tmp or start with tilde. Delete all of the files.

When complete, run standard (not thorough) scandisk with Automatically fix errors turn on. Scandisk is in Start|Programs|Accessories|System Tools|Scandisk.
