My computer crashes when i try to play games. It says something about kernel32.dll. There is also no sound.

DxDiag starts to work and says that it is directx9, but then crashes.
I haven't personally installed directx9 so i don't know when it was installed, but i presume this is the problem.
Is there any way of getting back to directx8?

click here a guide to K32.DLL problems.

As for reverting back to D8 I don't think its possible, it gets in deep.

Since the upgrade have you been to the game websites and downloaded more up to date drivers?
